Nut Free Granola

This recipe can use many different ingredients, use whatever you have in your cupboard but it comes out as sweet, salty, crunchy golden granola that you can have for breakfast lunch or dessert. Have on top of yoghurt or as a cereal, the variations are endless. Quick, easy, cheap and healthy granola recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of oats

  • 1/2 cup of buckwheat

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds

  • 2 tbsp flaxseeds

  • 2 tbsp pepitas

  • 2 tbsp sunflower seeds

  • 1/2 cup of shredded coconut

  • 1/2 cup of coconut flakes

  • Pinch of salt

  • 1-2 tsp of vanilla essence

  • 1-2 tbsp of honey/rice malt syrup/maple syrup

  • 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil

Method:

  1. In a large mixing bowl combine all dry ingredients.

  2. Add wet ingredients and stir until all the dry mixture is covered.

  3. Line a baking dish with parchment paper (this just helps to stop the seeds from sticking to your tray).

  4. Lay the mixture evenly on the tray.

  5. Bake in the oven on 160 degree celsius for 20 minutes or until the granola is golden brown on top.

  6. Let cool completely before breaking into pieces and playing in a jar or eat straight away.

  7. Can be kept in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.
